Glossary
Eucharist: Eucharist is the receiving of the bread and wine, this is a time Jesus sacrificed his life for us.
Church/Cathedral: A place were anyone can come to pray, worship and attend mass, the church is God’s house.
Christian: Christian is the name given to people who follow in Jesus and have been baptized.
Bread: The bread represents the body of Christ, we eat it in memory in him.
Wine: The wine represents the blood of Christ, we drink it in memory of him.
Jesus: Jesus sacrificed his life for us.
Alter severs: Help in preparing the mass and help the priest throughout the mass.
Assembly: The audience who come and listen to the mass, they celebrate the Eucharist, the sacraments and other liturgy.
Prayer: Is a quiet time were we talk, listen and thank God.
Liturgy of the word: It’s the first main part of the mass, we need to listen God’s word.
Liturgy of the Eucharist: The second part of the mass, this is a time were we eat the bread and wine and thank Jesus for what he did for us.
Bible: the bible is the holy book of the church, it consists of the Old Testament and New Testament.
Communion: A time were we receiving the bread and wine, when you do this you are taking part in the Eucharist.
Priest: The man who leads the mass, he celebrates all the special events around the year.
Chalice: Is the cup we drink the wine in (blood of Christ) this cup is normal silver or gold.
