The Liturgical Seasons
The Liturgical Seasons are times in Jesus' life where something happened. Around this period of time the Priest and your church are dressed in a specific colour, representing what happened at that time.
WHITE -
When our priest and church are dressed in white, it represents Christmas or Easter. White symbolises Resurrection and is often used for funerals. It means that something is passing.

GREEN -
Green is ordinary time. It represent nature, life, growth and hope. This is a time when we can still reflect and enjoy the celebration of the Lord but this is a time where we are only celebrating God and not anything else.

RED -
Red is Pentecost. Pentecost was the time when the Holy Spirit came down onto the disciples giving them the ability to speak in many different languages, so that they may spread God and Jesus' good news. The colour red symbolises blood and fire.

ROSE PINK -
Rose pink is optional. It is an option for the priest to dress in rose pink on the 3rd and 4th Sunday of Lent. Rose pink represents kindness and peace.

PURPLE -
Purple is the time of Advent and Lent. Purple is the colour of reflection. Purple is the reflection colour because it reminds us of the sky before a sunrise. This time is usually very calm.
